What’s the role?
Digital marketing plays an increasingly important role in customer-facing organisations, with online promotion, audience engagement, and data-driven communication now embedded as best practice. This 12-month modern apprenticeship will help you to understand how to use digital channels to communicate with specific audiences and how to craft messages and content to achieve strong engagement with residents, communities and businesses. At North Lanarkshire Council, the Corporate Communications team plays a critical role in linking with communities, sharing information about services and support available, and developing campaigns designed to bring about positive behavioural change for the benefit of residents and local businesses.
As part of this apprenticeship, you’ll undertake an SCQF Level 7 in Digital Marketing. You’ll also gain valuable work experience in a busy communications environment working with a multi-disciplinary team supporting services across the council including sports and culture, economic development, housing, education, social care and tourism. This apprenticeship would appeal to you if you’re interested in working in and pursuing a career in a communications and marketing environment.
Placements are in the following areas:
Corporate Communications, based in Civic Sqaure, Motherwell.
What do I need?
You don’t need to have any previous experience although you should have English and at least three other qualifications (Band A-C) at National 5 level or above. We look for Apprentices who can help us deliver our exciting ambition and plans for North Lanarkshire. During the selection process we’ll look for you to demonstrate the key strengths we know you’ll need to be successful; ambition, determination, adaptability, personality, ownership, be pro-active and show willingness to learn.
In accordance with Government Guidelines, you’ll need to be aged 16-24 (at the point of starting the apprenticeship) or if you are disabled or care experienced, you’ll need to be aged between 16-29 (at the point of starting the apprenticeship).

Friday: 08:45am - 16:15pm
