What’s the role?

This initial 12-month apprenticeship offers a great way to start your career by being involved in the team planning how North Lanarkshire Council invests around £100 million each year to improve the lives of its tenants.

You will be a key member of the Housing Investment team, helping with plans for large-scale works such as kitchens replacements across all types of council housing, from houses to multi-storey towers. A major part of the work which you would be involved would focus on energy efficiency and net zero goals helping making homes warmer and cheaper for tenants to live in.

This position is perfect if you enjoy using IT and data, as you will use various software packages and detailed reports to both plan and track these programmes of work to ensure they stay on schedule. You will also gain front-line customer service experience, working with tenants both an office and community settings.

This blend of technical planning and public-facing support is perfect if you are interested in working in a modern housing environment and could also lead to an opportunity to undertake an HNC in Construction Management

What do I need?

You don’t need to have any previous experience although you should have English and at least three other qualifications (Band A-C) at National 5 level or above. We look for Apprentices who can help us deliver our exciting ambition and plans for North Lanarkshire. During the selection process we’ll look for you to demonstrate the key strengths we know you’ll need to be successful; ambition, determination, adaptability, personality, ownership, be pro-active and show willingness to learn.

In accordance with Government Guidelines, you’ll need to be aged 16-24 (at the point of starting the apprenticeship) or if you are disabled or care experienced, you’ll need to be aged between 16-29 (at the point of starting the apprenticeship).

Working Pattern:

Monday - Thursday: 08:45am - 16:45pm

Friday: 08:45am - 16:15pm

This position is temporary until 13/08/2027.
