North Lanarkshire Council’s Facility Support Services is responsible for the management, delivery and development of the School Meals, Social Work Catering Service and hospitality across North Lanarkshire.

Based within the Bellshill Transport Hub on a hybrid model you will be responsible for visiting on site kitchens, engaging with service practitioners and attending meetings as required. You will assist our Facility Support Services team in maintaining and monitoring nutrient standards within our schools, and North Lanarkshire communities and in keeping up to date with legislation. You will play a key role in contributing and support the implementation of local government outcomes and policies within the project management Team.

You will be responsible for the provision and management of Special/Medical diets through development of a digitalised system, the roll out and marketing of free school meals, menu planning and analysis, identifying and communicating about Allergens as well as assisting in the development and implementation of the Council’s Good Food Nation Plans.

You should be educated to SVQ4 or HND or Degree in Nutrition or equivalent. You will also have moderate work experience in a relevant health improvement post and experience of partnership working and be able to demonstrate research or project work you have undertaken. It is essential that you can demonstrate that you have excellent communication, organisational and presentation skills and be able to work independently as well as part of a project management team. A working knowledge of a nutritional analysis software package is also required. You should be adaptable to change, be confident and self-motivated and have the capability to juggle deadlines. Experience in menu adaptation is desirable.

This is a temporary post for 23 months due to temporary funding.

The successful candidate will be required to travel throughout North Lanarkshire.

35 hours per week - Monday to Thursday - 08:45 - 16:45 (55 mins lunch);

Friday 08:45 - 16:15
