Restorative Justice focuses on rehabilitation and paying back to the community via Community Payback Orders with a key role supervising unpaid work requirements of such orders. Both male and female service users can be diverted from prosecution through Diversion and Fiscal Work Orders.

Based within Bellshill, you will lead on the delivery of Community Payback Orders where you will manage a team of Placement Managers who supervise and motivate groups of offenders. You will also assist in the organisation of group project placements, assess referrals for work and organise work routines. In addition, you will monitor and supervise the work of offender teams assessing their work performance and time keeping, ensuring compliance with the conditions of community service orders. You will maintain records and report difficulties or failures to comply with these conditions when required.

Engaging positively with individuals who have been involved with offending and their families is critical to this post, so we need someone who has excellent verbal and written communication skills. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, enthusiastic, a team player and solution focussed who has the ability remain calm, work under pressure, and adhere to strict timescales. Excellent record keeping is important. You should also be able to demonstrate an interest in working in partnership with people who have been involved with offending and have an open and non-judgemental attitude.

You must have an SVQ3, HNC or apprenticeships in a relevant discipline or equivalent. You should also have sound D.I.Y or craft skills which can be applied in both interior and exterior projects and you must be capable of motivating and supervising individuals and work groups. A driving licence is also essential.

Knowledge of the criminal justice systems and the challenges facing justice services, supervisory skills are desirable.

Work Pattern includes weekend working one in three weeks.

The successful candidate will be subject to a Criminal Conviction check through Disclosure Scotland.

This is a temporary position until 31 March 2025.
