Located in Dalziel Building, Motherwell, this is an 18-month post working alongside the permanent Adult and Child Protection Co-ordinators, with a specific focus on expanding the existing functions within of posts in relation to multi agency learning reviews.

The post reflects Public Protection North Lanarkshire’s commitment to developing and embedding a system based, trauma informed learning culture in North Lanarkshire public protection partners, based on the undertaking and learning from multi agency child and adult protection reviews.

You will provide professional support to North Lanarkshire Child and Adult Committees and Protection Learning Review Executive Groups, and its multiagency partners, to ensure the effective operation of its remit.

This will include, to lead the ongoing development and implementation of a framework of policies, plans and procedures for child and adult protection multi agency review processes across North Lanarkshire.

You will maintain and, where required, develop processes in respect of notification of significant incidents and requests for learning reviews, as set out in national and local guidance. This will include coordinating notifications to the Learning Review Executive groups (LREG), and requesting and collating information from all agencies and production of a multi-agency chronology.

You will provide support to lead reviewers and learning review team, including chairing and coordinating multi agency reviews, including learning reviews, ensuring effective organisation of learning review team meetings, practitioner and manager events. This also includes facilitating practitioner and manager reflective events.

You will work with the other Co-ordinators to support a wellbeing approach to review leads and participants, including appropriate involvement of any family members within a review. This will involve working to embed trauma informed, psychologically safe, systems-based approach to reviews.

You will support partners to implement and monitor the learning and recommendations from reviews. this will involve the collation of improvement actions and systems learning into themes where appropriate, ensuring reports are presented to appropriate governance for approval and developing and undertaking multi-agency briefings regarding learning and improvement actions.

You will work with partners in reparation for publication of reviews and ensure that relevant notifications and submissions are made to national bodies submitting completed reviews.

You will be registered or eligible for registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) and you will require to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member prior to commencing in this role.

A qualification in Social Work or other professional qualification in a relevant discipline together with substantial experience within Social Work or other relevant discipline is essential. Experience of Child and/or Adult Protection work in Social Work or a relevant service and multi agency collaboration with particular reference to Child and/or Adult Protection is also essential. A postgraduate or management qualification is desirable.

Working Pattern:

Monday - Thursday: 08:45am - 16:45pm

Friday: 08:45am - 16:15pm
