An exciting opportunity has arisen within North Lanarkshire Council for an experienced and motivated individual to join our team as Resilience Planning Manager.
This is a key role in supporting the Council’s ability to prepare for, respond to, and recover from significant or major events. The successful candidate will lead functions across the full remit of resilience planning, including the development of plans and procedures for emergency response and ensuring robust arrangements are in place to maintain business continuity during times of crisis. These plans must be kept up to date and regularly tested through exercises.
Close collaboration with services across the Council will be essential, providing professional advice and guidance on resilience matters while ensuring compliance with statutory responsibilities as a Category 1 responder under the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 Contingency Planning (Scotland) Regulations 2005. You will represent the Council at multi-agency forums and contribute to both regional and national resilience planning efforts.
You will bring:
- Extensive experience in resilience planning and business continuity within a public sector or multi-agency setting.
- Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities under pressure.
- A relevant degree or professional qualification.
In addition, applicants must have excellent organisational/analytical and report writing skills with clear attention to detail, be efficient in MS office packages and have an ability to manage competing demands while remaining calm under pressure.
The successful candidate will be required to participate in an out-of-hours standby service. A current driving licence is essential.
This role is Hybrid and is a mixture of home, office and site working which is based at Station House, 950 Old Edinburgh Road, Bellshill ML4 3FG.

Working Pattern (35Hours)
Monday - Thursday: 8:45am - 4:45pm (including a 55-minute unpaid break) and Friday: 8:45am - 4:15pm (including a 50-minute unpaid break)
