The Tackling Poverty Team has undergone transformation in the last 6 months by introducing a new Operating Model for Residents, Council Services, Elected Members, Community Planning Partners and Residents and strengthening the governance of the Council’s Tackling Poverty Strategy which has resulted in a name change for the team to Social Inclusion and Wealth Team.
As a member of the team, the Senior Officer role will be to contribute to the development and implementation of policies, procedures and services in line with National and Council Policy to assist the Business Manager, in the new redesigned/working model for the Team, to monitor, co-ordinate and develop, welfare rights, money advice and other designated services either provided by or on behalf of the Council in partnership with other Services and Agencies, promote and maximise funding opportunities to the Council and to provide specialist knowledge and information where required.
The postholder will also assist in the delivery of a wide range of tackling poverty activity within our communities/council services ensuring that provision is adequate and efficient.
A professional diploma or equivalent qualification coupled with extensive experience of Welfare Rights/Money Advice operations are essential to this post.
