The Brighter Futures team is looking for a dynamic, motivated and forward-thinking Senior Project Officer (Brighter Futures) to cover a period of maternity leave. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a central role in delivering the NL Academy model and Brighter Futures programme, supporting transformational projects that enable learning, growth and better outcomes for North Lanarkshire people and businesses.
About the Role
As a Senior Project Officer, you will be at the heart of our programme delivery. You’ll support, coordinate and drive a portfolio of projects that underpin the council’s strategic ambitions.
This role offers the opportunity to work at the heart of a high‑profile, high‑impact programme that directly supports the people and economy of North Lanarkshire.
You'll play a leading role across three core areas:
- Project Management & Delivery
You will support the planning, monitoring and delivery of a wide range of NL Academies and Brighter Futures projects, ensuring activity stays on track and delivers the outcomes required.
- Programme Management Support
Working closely with project and programme leads, you will provide hands‑on coordination and practical support which will include:
- Programme planning and decision‑making support
- Governance and documentation
- Performance reporting and analytics
- Supporting standards, processes and quality assurance
- Promoting good programme and project management practice
- Business Analysis
You will gather, monitor and analyse data to monitor delivery and measure outcomes, identify issues or areas of underperformance, and work with colleagues to develop solutions.
What we are looking for
We’re seeking someone who brings:
- Experience in managing projects
- HND/degree/SVQ4 in a relevant discipline
- Confidence in gathering and analysing data and translating insights into action
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- The ability to work at pace, remain adaptable and manage competing priorities
- A proactive, positive mindset with a genuine enthusiasm for improvement and innovation.
