We are seeking to recruit Senior Social Workers to join our Children & Families team based in Wishaw to provide professional leadership and help us retain our high level of performance of service delivery.

Children & Families are part of North Lanarkshire Council’s new Education and Families Directorate and you will join our team as we embark on an ambitious programme of work, ‘We Aspire’, to transform our services and improve outcomes for all in our communities You will support the management team in ensuring that Children & Families services play a full part in the new structure while maintaining crucial partnership working with adult social care services, NLC Services and other key partners including, NHS Lanarkshire, Police Scotland and Voluntary Action North Lanarkshire/third sector.

Working within the Getting it Right for Every Child (GIRFEC), child protection and looked after children and care experienced young people frameworks, we encourage innovative practice and evidence based approaches to support our work with children, young people and families. Our partnerships within children’s services are well developed supported by single and multi-agency self-evaluation and continuous improvement.

You will require strong leadership skills to lead and motivate employees to ensure a culture of effective service delivery and focus on quality outcomes are delivered.

Significant post qualifying experience is essential including experience in a relevant discipline. A track record of successful inter agency working, leadership skills together with knowledge of risk assessment and risk management frameworks are essential as are excellent verbal and written skills.

You must have a CQSW/DipSW or equivalent, along with significant post qualifying experience in Social Work and be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).

You will require to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member prior to commencing in this role.
