We are looking for a Solicitor to join Legal and Democratic based within the Civic Centre, Motherwell. You will advise client services in relation to Information and Standards in an exciting and ever-changing sector. Your work will be varied and you will support client services across the Council to deliver projects which will benefit the people of North Lanarkshire.

You should have a degree in Scots Law and hold a valid Diploma in Professional Legal Practice. You should be able to demonstrate awareness of information governance although it is not essential that you have specialised in this area previously. You must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. You must have the ability to produce well-structured written documentation. You will be an enthusiastic, committed and motivated individual. You will demonstrate a commitment to working in the public sector. Good client handling skills and excellent attention to detail are essential.

This post is politically restricted in terms of Section 2 (1) (g) of The Local Government and Housing Act 1989 as amended.

This post is temporary to cover maternity. The contract will be for a minimum of 6 months with a possibility to extend if further maternity cover is required.

*For all casual/sessional roles, you will receive 12.1% of your hourly rate for every hour worked in total recompense for annual leave, including public holidays. These rates will be indicated separately on your payslip. You will only be paid for the hours that you work.
