North Lanarkshire Council’s Secondary Probationer Teachers are invited to apply to join the Council’s Temporary Secondary Supply register.
As a Supply Teacher you will have achieved the full GTCS registration by August 2026. The reasons for such cover may include staff absence, maternity leave, secondments and other ad-hoc short-term or fixed-term posts across North Lanarkshire.
Supply Teachers are valued and essential to schools to fill such gaps with minimal impact to young people’s learning. That’s why we need people like you. We want high-quality teachers who can really make a difference in our classrooms.
Working as a Supply Teacher in various schools can also expand your skills and experience.
Some of the temporary supply positions will be in the denominational sector and will require RC Church Approval. If it is your intention to accept any offer of work in a denominational school you should commence the Church approval process now. More information is available on www.sces.org.uk
You should note that hours will not be guaranteed and successful applicants will be placed onto the supply register and will be contacted to cover schools as and when required.
Salary for periods of supply work undertaken will be in accordance with SNCT.
You will require to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member prior to commencing in this role.

Salaries will be in accordance with the Scottish Negotiating Committee for Teacher (SNCT).
