Enterprise and Communities has redesigned its services to deliver the council`s priority outcomes and meet the changing needs of our communities. As the 4th largest authority in Scotland and the largest local authority landlord, we are used to delivering a highly responsive service to our tenants and customers. We want to do more and have hugely ambitious plans to regenerate our communities, build new homes, develop Smarter Homes, create employment, attract investment to North Lanarkshire, prevent homelessness and sustain tenancies.

Based in the Housing Property Services team you will report to the Service Delivery Co-ordinator and will maintain and improve all council housing stock including multi-storey towers, retirement housing complexes and dispersed temporary accommodation. This will involve ensuring contractor / partner compliance with contract conditions and production of contract specifications and performance reports. You will be required to travel throughout the North Lanarkshire area.

An SVQ Level 3, HNC, or equivalent, in a relevant discipline or a relevant apprenticeship that is equivalent to HNC or SVQ Level 3 is essential, as is a building trade background or moderate experience within the building repairs industry and experience in computerised work generation and inspection systems together with good communication skills. A driving licence and access to a car is desirable due to the geographical spread of work throughout the North Lanarkshire area.

Placement on the NLC 9 scale is dependent on applicants holding/obtaining an HNC in Construction Services/CIH Level 4 – Housing Maintenance Management or a Time served tradesperson evidenced by trade qualifications or equivalent in a relevant discipline and demonstrating competence in a range of duties as detailed in the competency matrix for the post. It is envisaged that it will take applicants a minimum of 12 months to achieve this.
