We are looking for Tram & Historic Vehicles Technician to join our Museums & Collections team. You will be based within Summerlee Museum of Scottish Industrial Life, Coatbridge but you will work with all the museums in North Lanarkshire Council. This is a unique opportunity for the right candidate.

Your role will involve a wide variety of activities that relate to the safe operation of the museum tramway and historic engineering exhibits.

To be successful in this role, you will have a SVQ3, HNC or equivalent in a relevant discipline along with significant post qualification experience. You will have experience in maintenance and project planning with knowledge of working with a range of historic vehicles being advantageous. Within this role you will be required to work at height with skills in preparing and painting large objects including wood, metal and composite being welcomed. You will be willing to complete all necessary training and have a desire to learn and develop skills.

You should be a problem solver with good interpersonal and communication skills, be self-motivated and have a flexible approach to work practices. You will have a customer focused approach and have experience of supervising volunteers.

The successful candidate will be required to become a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups scheme PVG.

This post involves weekend working as part of a 5 over 7 shift pattern. Working hours vary between 8am and 5:30pm.

A driving licence is essential for this post.
