Based within North Lanarkshire Council’s We Aspire College, opportunities have arisen for We Aspire College Support Assistants. In this post you will provide advice, information, support and practical assistance to children, young people and their families.
We Aspire College, which you would be a part of, integrates SEBN (Social, Emotional and Behavioural needs) related services in North Lanarkshire Council. It incorporates a number of existing schools, services and facilities under the leadership of a Multi Establishment Head Teacher. The schools included in the We Aspire College are Pentland Primary and Portland, Fallside and Willowbank secondary schools.
As a We Aspire College Support Assistant you will implement agreed plans with children, young people and their families, in partnership with colleagues and other agencies. Under the direction of the class teacher/instructor and/or senior management you will provide individual and group support for pupils allowing them to fully engage in their learning and you will facilitate, organise and support children and young people to take part in inclusive, meaningful, appropriate activities.
A qualification in Social Care for example SVQ Level 3 in Social Care, HNC in Social Care or equivalent is essential as is experience of working with vulnerable young people & their families/carers. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, enthusiastic, a team player and solution focussed who has the ability remain calm and work under pressure. Compassion with a commitment to working with children, young people and their families to achieve positive outcomes is also essential.
You will require to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member prior to commencing in this role
Work Pattern:
35 hours per week - Monday to Friday - 8.45am to 4.45pm
This is a temporary position until 25/06/2025.
