Accountancy Assistant (Temporary)
You will be responsible for the day-to-day provision of a Finance support function to both qualified finance staff and operational budget holders. Duties will include assisting with financial monitoring and budgetary control, processing entries to the ledger, constructing and scheduling data downloads, undertaking cost and variance investigations, the reconciliation of departmental control accounts and the preparation of briefing notes for managers.
It is essential you have financial experience in budget monitoring; working with financial ledger systems and report writing tools; must be computer literate and proficient with Excel and Word packages; have effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills; have the ability to manage your own workload and meet deadlines and have a structured approach to problem solving.
You will have a minimum of a HND level qualification (or equivalent) in accounting or a related subject. You will also have experience of working in a central finance role, and experience within a public sector accounting environment is desirable.
You should possess well developed communication and report writing skills. You will have experience in using financial systems, particularly Microsoft Excel, to produce reports and financial analyses to a high standard.
Previous experience in Revenue budget monitoring would be advantageous, as would experience in utilising business intelligence software and business world ledger system.
