Based at Renfrewshire House, you will provide vital back-office administrative support to our cemetery operations, overseeing services related to bereavement and burials across Renfrewshire.

 

As a Cemeteries Assistant, you will be responsible for managing all administrative functions, including the maintenance of back-office memorial safety records, accurate record-keeping for statutory memorial requirements, and ensuring compliance with the Burial Scotland Act and other relevant regulations. The role involves responding to enquiries from the public and elected members, addressing complaints with empathy, and coordinating funeral bookings while working closely with operational staff to deliver seamless burial arrangements.

 

We are looking for a Cemeteries Assistant with professional relevant moderate experience within an Administration field of similar size and complexity with a desirably within public services or a related field.

 

You will have experience of working in an office-based environment, be computer literate and have experience of computer packages as well as having experience of developing, managing, and updating management systems to ensure accurate records are maintained requiring knowledge of excel and relevant IT packages and or management systems.

 

You must have experience of working with members of the public. with an empathetic approach to assisting members of the public who may be experiencing grief.

 

It is essential you have experience of collating reports and communicating with senior managers and experience of working with contractors in a relevant setting.

 

Effective organisational skills, ability to be flexible and open to change and ability to work as part of a team are also essential.

 

This is a full-time position, working 35 hours per week.
