Childcare Worker (Part Time) (Temporary)

Renfrewshire Council is currently recruiting for a suitably qualified and experienced childcare worker.

 

You will work as part of a team, and be responsible for the planning, organising and delivery of quality experiences for school aged children, consistent with Education and Leisure Services policies and procedures and the National care Standards.

 

You must have previous experience of working in a childcare setting, be an effective communicator with the ability to relate to parents/carers/children and relevant agencies, be able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team aswell as having the ability to be flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the service.

You will have a SVQ Level 3 in Play work (at SCQF Level 7) or SVQ level 3 Children’s Care, Learning and Development (at SCQF Level 7) or equivalent as stipulated in SSSC guidelines. You must be registered or agree to register as a practitioner with the Scottish Social Services Council.

 

You should be committed to participating in ongoing staff development to develop their knowledge and skills.

 

An understanding of policies and requirements of the Care Inspectorate and knowledge of planning and organising suitable activities and experiences for children is also essential.

 

Please note that this post is temporary for 6 months, subject to business needs or until the requirement for the post ceases, whichever date is the earlier.
