Commercial Waste Coordination Assistant (Temporary)
Renfrewshire Council is seeking to recruit a Commercial Waste Coordination Assistant. Reporting to the Commercial & Contracts Officer within Environment, Housing, and Infrastructure, you will work closely with the Business improvement & Commercial Support Officer to ensure the efficient running of the commercial waste service.
You will be required to undertake a range of tasks including:
Supporting the development and delivery of new systems and work processes, ensuring arrangements are in place for the systematic collation, monitoring, reporting and scrutiny of performance information.
Undertaking financial processes as required, including preparation of pecos orders, CARs, cash handling, processing invoices and purchase orders on behalf of the service, in line with Council Financial procedures.
Preparation of responses to FOI’s, complaints and enquiries, from Elected Members and the public, on behalf of the service ensuring all communication is logged appropriately and responded to within agreed timescales.
Carrying out general duties relating to the Commercial Waste Collection Service including communications with internal and external customers.
Maintaining an up to date and comprehensive knowledge of the services provided by the council to ensure that customers are supplied with relevant information in an efficient, effective and sensitive manner.
Assisting in the preparation of relevant reports and briefing papers as required for board and management meetings, ensuring management and performance information is provided accurately and timeously.
We are looking for a positive and supportive team member who can integrate into the Waste Services team, who is happy to work alongside colleagues as well as getting on with their own tasks with the ability to work to deadlines.
You will be educated to HND level or equivalent qualification/experience.
You will have experience of working with a range of stakeholders, customer service experience with effective verbal and written communication skills.
Numeracy and analytical skills as well as experience of using software packages including Microsoft office is also essential
Please note that this post is temporary, subject to business needs and funding for 12 Months or until the requirement for the post ceases, whichever date is the earlier.
