We are recruiting Community Learning and Development Assistants (Sessional) – this is a learning role for young leaders who are interested in assisting with the delivery of community-based youth work activities.

 

As part of Youth Services, you will work alongside the core team to deliver a range of youth work activities and support young people to participate, gain confidence and gain positive learning experiences that promote health and wellbeing.

 

You will be working on the Young and Equally Safe project that is focussing on gender-based violence using a youth work approach and peer led activities.

 

Working as part of a team, you will also work with groups and communities in neighbourhoods across Renfrewshire e.g.:

 

• Youth projects and clubs
• Holiday programmes
• Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Programme
• Community projects
• Targeted projects (e.g. gender-based violence, asylum seekers, care experienced, young carers)
• Working with volunteers

 

It is essential that you have experience in working with people; effective written and verbal communication skills; positive and flexible approach to work, and open to learning new skills.

 

It is desirable but not essential you have qualifications attained through Wider Achievement Awards; Saltire, Duke of Edinburgh, etc., experience of working with young people, IT Skills and experience of responsibility through volunteering.

 

You will be offered mandatory training to assist in your role.
