We are seeking a Connected Communities Officer (Grants and Investment) to join the Connected Communities team within Renfrewshire Council’s Policy and Partnerships Service – a great opportunity to develop your career within a supportive and dynamic local government environment.
The post will lead the strategic development, implementation and monitoring of the Council’s grants and investment programme. The postholder will provide support to senior managers and Elected Members by developing and implementing best practice relating to grant giving in the Council, and developing and delivering a cohesive approach to grants awards to community groups that strengthens current practice, ensuring that third sector groups are empowered to deliver good outcomes for local communities.
This role will suit a collaborative and organised individual with experience of working to deliver grant awards to community groups and engaging with and responding effectively to local community needs in a partnership context.
It is essential that you have understanding of strategic corporate and community planning priorities and the key role of the Connected Communities service, and the values and skills needed to work effectively with community members, elected members and senior colleagues across a range of diverse communities.
You will also have knowledge of community grants processes and their financial, legal and political implications and knowledge of the statutory and legislative requirements of the Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2025.
You must have a collaborative approach to working with colleagues and partner organisations and be adaptable and flexible and able to work under pressure when required.
Experience of managing a complex programme of work involving project, cyclical and ad-hoc elements and deliver to demanding timescales as well as having effective performance management, project development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation skills is essential.
A relevant professional qualification or equivalent experience is essential.
