You will contribute to the achievement of Customer and Business Services’ agreed Service Objectives by supporting service delivery covering: processing of Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction Scheme; Council Tax billing and collection; Sundry Income invoicing; Business Rates billing and collection; and recovery of Housing Benefit overpayments.

 

The post also requires proactive participation in the development of Customer and Business Services' Service Objectives.

 

You will be required to carry out the duties in relation to the system administration of the Revenues and Benefits systems including the scheduling and monitoring of batch and ad-hoc jobs to ensure that system functionality is optimised and processing requirements are met.

 

You will assist the Service Delivery Officer to test systems, write procedural guides and deliver training to the operational staff.

 

You should have IT skills and ability to use packages such as Microsoft Word and Excel and have knowledge of iWorld and Information@work systems and have knowledge and working experience of one or more of either Housing Benefit or Council Tax Reduction Scheme administration and legislation, Council Tax legislation, or Business Rates administration and legislation. You must also have experience of writing/developing guidance and procedural instructions.

 

 

You should have an understanding of how Customer and Business Services operate and have effective communication skills.  You should be able to present ideas in a clear and concise manner both verbally and in writing.  You will be required to interact with colleagues within Customer and Business Services, members of the public, other council departments and external agencies.
