Digital Development & GIS Officer
This is an exciting time to join Environment, Housing and Infrastructure to support the Climate, Public Protection and Roads Service Management Team. 
This role will maintain and develop systems and applications for service optimisation, mobile technology, performance management and customer contact within all areas of the Climate, Public Protection and Roads Service. 
Working closely with others you will ensure that processes and systems are effective, efficient, customer focused and continuously improving.  You will develop and implement digital projects and initiatives to improve frontline services. 
You will support the Climate, Public Protection and Roads Service to establish key performance indicators for the service and to manage their implementation, being an advocate for change within the service area.
It is essential that you have substantial demonstratable experience in a practical GIS data collection/amendment role and experience of digitising and spatial data capture to create or amend GIS datasets, as well as extensive experience of using the ArcGIS platform and Asset Management software packages.  
You will be able to work in a logical and consistent manner following existing detailed procedure, have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications or equivalent, and have effective written and oral communication skills with the ability to converse with citizens and provide advice.
It is also essential you are able to maintain complex data sets and control IT applications in accurate and consistent ways, as well as the ability to influence others and inspire confidence in yourself and projects.
A HNC, SVQ or relevant appropriate qualification is essential.
A degree in GIS or related discipline, certified training on ESRI Arc GIS platform and data manipulation using SL or Python and knowledge of Brightly Confirm system is desirable.  
Cartographic experience producing site plans and thematic maps and a driving licence is also desirable.
