Electrical Technician QS (Qualified Supervisor)

Renfrewshire Councils, Building Services is looking to recruit a permanent Electrical Technician QS Qualified Supervisor.

You should have an SVQ Level 3 of Electrician Apprenticeship, or equivalent and have achieved the 18th Edition of the IEE wiring regulations.

You must also hold an ECS Health and Safety Assessment or approved equivalent and hold current editions of BS7671 and other technical reference documents relevant to the range and scale of the electrical work undertaken.

It is essential that you are qualified to approved electrician status and have the relevant experience in order to be approved to Qualified Supervisor status.

You will be experienced inspecting and quality checking works carried out in a commercial and domestic environment and desirably have experience of estimating and pricing electrical work.

You will have experience in a wide range of electrical work and writing detailed technical reports, be familiar with all forms of new technology and mobile operating devices, have the ability to work on your own initiative and work with a wide range of people, have effective communication and written skills with the ability to communicate at all levels as well as having knowledge and understanding of Electricity at Work 1989, current edition of BS7671 and any relevant codes of practice and guidance.

You must have the ability to organise own workload and to work to deadlines and be decisive, as part of the role, you will maintain management databases of certificates and electrical equipment

A flexible approach to working will be required including out of hours working and participation on the out of hours emergency stand-by service requiring you to be able to adjust to changes in work demands at short notice and be flexible to facilitate fluctuating work.

A Current valid driving licence is essential.

Knowledge of working within a public sector environment is desirable. You may also undertake associated works across in other trade skills by multi skilling.
