GIS, Data & Research Analyst

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and enthusiastic Geographic Information Systems (GIS) professional to join Renfrewshire Council in the role of GIS, Data & Research Analyst.

Supporting our corporate GIS Lead & based within the wider Policy & Partnership service area, we are currently looking for a GIS, Data & Research Analyst to join our Data Analytics and Research Team. This role will suit an organised individual with strong analytical skills and experience in data management.

This is an ideal time to join Renfrewshire Council with several workstreams under way to develop the use of data and digital technology in delivering and improving services. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the development of the Council’s strategic approach to both data and knowledge management, with particular focus on making greater use of GIS as an analytic and operational resource.

It is essential that you have experience in local government or a similar diverse organisation and a proven record working with data and using GIS and other Business Intelligence tools. You must also be able to analyse and present complex information, have an effective working knowledge of public data sources and have effective verbal communication and presentation skills.

A relevant degree or equivalent relevant experience is essential.
