Renfrewshire Council’s Finance and Resources Service is one of the largest services within Renfrewshire Council, and employs approximately 1,200 employees, out of a total Council headcount around 8400 employees. The service enables and supports the smooth running and strategic management of the Council’s key corporate functions covering financial, legal, ,procurement, ICT, business administration and human resources as well as providing key front line customer services and maintaining sound audit and governance across the Council.
The Service also leads on the delivery of strategic change across the Council and leading on the people and OD aspects of the change agenda will be one of your key areas of responsibility, should you be appointed to the role.
You will provide strategic leadership, influence, and direction to the Council through the provision of expert strategic advice and guidance on the People and Organisational Development agenda to the Chief Executive, Corporate Management Team and elected Council Members. You will report to the Director of Finance and Resources as a member of the Finance and Resource Service senior management team, providing the strategic lead for the delivery and development of the Council’s People and Organisational Development Service. You will also join the Council’s Corporate Management Team, and lead the Council’s ongoing engagement with our trade union colleagues.
It is essential that you posses a relevant degree or professional qualification and/or Chartered Membership of The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).
You must have significant experience in developing and delivering effective People and OD strategies in large and complex organisations to drive forward people and business performance. Also essential is a strong track record of leading and managing the people and OD agenda within major corporate transformation and change programmes in a large, complex organisation at a senior level.
