Health and Safety Policy & Compliance Officer

 

Renfrewshire Council is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Health and Safety Policy & Compliance Officer to join our corporate Health and Safety team. This is an exciting new opportunity to play a key role in shaping and supporting the Council's strategic approach to health and safety, helping to ensure safe working environments for employees, service users and the wider community.

 

As part of the Corporate Health and Safety Team, you will contribute to the development, implementation and continuous improvement of health and safety policies, strategies and performance management systems. Working closely with a wide range of stakeholders, you will support services across the Council to meet statutory obligations, manage risks effectively and promote a positive health and safety culture.

 

You must have experience in local government or similar diverse organisations, experience of preparing written policy/research briefings or similar, as well as experience of accident and incident investigations and Health & Safety audits and inspections.

 

It is essential that you have the ability to analyse complex information and present it clearly and have detailed knowledge of key Health and Safety legislation, as well as knowledge of managing customer/stakeholder relationships and policy and procedure development.

 

You will possess a NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent and it is essential that you have experience in undertaking risk assessments, carrying out audits and monitoring workloads.

 

Please note that this post is temporary, subject to business needs and funding for 2 Years or until the requirement for the post ceases, whichever date is the earlier.
