Renfrewshire instrumental music service provides tuition to over 1800 children and young people in Renfrewshire Schools.
We are recruiting sessional/supply music instructors in various instrument families to teach at our Saturday Music Centre, in Schools and as part of our Authority Ensemble Programme. Hours and work pattern are as and when required to fit in with work/rehearsal schedules and will involve evening/ weekend working.
Candidates should have experience and knowledge of the current curriculum and SQA/external exams requirements. It is essential you can work both independently and collaboratively and effectively organise and manage classes/rehearsals and resources to ensure safe and orderly activities and clearly communicate learning objectives to children and young people.
Candidates are required to have a degree in a recognised music course and should have a working pedological knowledge of their instrument family.
Applications are particularly welcomed from candidates who can demonstrate experience of working with children and young people and are able to share details of their success and approaches to learning and teaching.
Hours and work pattern are line with current SNCT provisions.
This position is covered by The Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 (“the PVG Act”) and has been designated as carrying out regulated work with a child or protected adult under the terms of the Act. Consequently, individuals who are named on the Disqualified from Working with Children/Adults Lists will commit an offence if they apply for this post and may face prosecution.
