Procurement is recognised as having a vital role to play in the delivery of our strategic outcomes; positioned within Finance & Resources Service, our increasing focus on planning for the future needs of our Council and communities provides procurement with a unique opportunity to influence and shape our commissioning approach.
Renfrewshire Council is seeking a Procurement Assistant to join our award winning procurement team. You will support the delivery of strategic objectives and add value to one of the best and highest performing local authority procurement teams in Scotland
It is essential that you have experience in an administrative or finance environment, and have experience of working with a range of software packages including Microsoft Word and Excel. You must be able to demonstrate the ability to organise your own workload in order to achieve objectives and meet tight deadlines. You will have knowledge of benchmarking, analysis and research.
Previous experience of working in a Procurement environment and knowledge of the tender/ purchase to pay process would be desirable, as would experience of working with Microsoft Project software. An HNC level qualification (or equivalent) in a Finance/ Administration/ Procurement related subject is desirable, or you may be studying towards or have achieved the CIPS Level 2 Certificate.
