Repairs & Maintenance Officer

 

Renfrewshire Council is seeking two Repairs & Maintenance Officers to join our new Damp & Mould team, part of the wider Housing Asset & Investment Team. This is an opportunity to play a key role in delivering effective housing repairs and maintenance services, ensuring our homes remain safe, compliant and well maintained for tenants and residents.

We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused individual who is a City & Guilds time-served tradesperson, or, who holds a HNC/HND in a relevant building or construction discipline and/ or have a SVQ level 3 in a relevant field, you will have experience working within a housing repairs and maintenance environment, delivering responsive repairs services/ programmes and you will have experience of dealing with the public in the field and in an interview situation.

 

You must have an understanding of landlord repair and maintenance responsibilities and a knowledge of standards of workmanship for all trades involved in the repairs process including various Health & Safety regulations that relate to the construction industry aswell as Knowledge of landlord compliance requirements in relation to asbestos, electrical, gas and legionella.

 

It is essential you have effective IT skills, written and verbal communication skills; the ability to work on your own initiative as part of a busy team; demonstratable motivation and enthusiasm with the ability to organise your own workload and be able to work under pressure to ensure tight deadlines are met.

 

You must also be able to attend meetings out with normal office hours when required.

 

A full current driving licence is also essential
