Invest in Renfrewshire is Renfrewshire Council’s Employability Service which aims to boost the local economy and tackle unemployment. We are looking for a highly motivated person, seeking a challenging role within a busy economic development environment. You will help inform strategies that will contribute to developing and delivering effective services for the priority groups identified with the PESF Action Plan. Your experience, skills and knowledge of research will focus on parents within the priority groups with a strong focus on the alignment of key policies to better develop the right intervention at the right time that will better support progressing into employment that will ultimately increase income for those in employment, lifting parents and families out of poverty. You will contribute to the development of strategy with recommendations made to Renfrewshire Council as well as wider Community Planning Partners. You will have experience of working closely with a management team to ensure that strategies can be converted to policy with effective, efficient, and timely procedures allowing partners to deliver a more informed, supported employability journey. The Research and analysis post requires the ability to ensure that relevant data is collected and collated to determine a robust baseline, allowing for better informed future planning. You will ensure that data sharing protocols are in place both internally and across the wider partnership to enable a smooth flow of information. You will bring to the post experience of carrying out research using a range of means including consultations as well as gathering key information and analysing data. We are looking for you to demonstrate through experience the ability to present information in a way that will assist decision-makers to develop and shape local policy. It is essential that you have a minimum HND level qualification or equivalent in relevant discipline or relevant experience at an appropriate level working in an employability environment. You will possess effective ICT skills and knowledge of a wide range of analytical software packages as well as experience of using data analysis and research tools with the ability to convert data to management information. It is also essential that you bring to the post an understanding of key policies in relation to Child Poverty. It is desirable that you have experience of utilising Scottish Government/Public funding with an understanding of compliance relating to service delivery.
