Senior Clerical Officer (Planning & Building Standards Business Support)

 

Renfrewshire Council – proud recipient of Council of the Year – is seeking to recruit three well organised individuals to provide effective clerical support as part of our Planning and Building Standards Service. 

 

You will be part of the Business Support Team assisting the Planning and Building Standards Service to process and determine relevant applications and enquiries in an efficient and effective manner.  As part of your role you will maintain and input data to electronic systems and will assist in the processing of relevant planning and building warrant applications.  In addition, you will be the first point of contact for many customers, and you will be required to liaise and correspondence with customers and stakeholders by email, telephone and in person. 

 

It is desirable that you are educated to SVQ Level 3 or equivalent in an administration related subject with knowledge of the Planning and Building Standards Service and associated systems including Uniform, Enterprise and Idox DMS, it is essential that you have the experience of maintaining and updating records and also with liaising with a range of internal and external agencies and stakeholders.  In addition, it is desirable that you have experience with working with a wide range of software packages especially Microsoft Office.  It is necessary that you are able to work under pressure in a deadline driven environment.  You will be an effective communicator with effective organisational skills with the ability to deliver a high start of service to internal and external customers.
