Invest in Renfrewshire is Renfrewshire Council’s Employability Service which aims to boost the local economy and tackle unemployment. We are looking for a highly motivated person, seeking a challenging role within a busy economic development environment. Renfrewshire Council’s Employability Services and this post are funded by Parent Employability Support Fund (PESF) this is a key component of the Invest in Renfrewshire activity as well as the wider Renfrewshire’s Local Employability Partnership (RLEP). You will have responsibility to manage the Parental Employability Support Fund (PESF) as part of the Employability Team within Renfrewshire Council’s Employability Service; Invest in Renfrewshire. The Team have responsibility for engaging and supporting parents not engaged in the labour market and parents on a low income with a strong focus on priority groups as defined by Scottish Government. You will be responsible for the effective management of the PESF team ensuring strong and effective partnerships are developed and maintained across a range of services to integrate and align services to deliver improved results for Parents. You will bring to the role a track record of managing teams providing services to unemployed clients. Your experience will demonstrate the ability to delegate a staff team effectively to ensure participants are engaging actively and progressing closer to the agreed goals. That agreed targets are met for both the team and individuals while ensuring that all activity conforms to compliant standards. It is essential that you have degree in a relevant discipline or able to demonstrate experience gained in an employability environment and a record of partnership working and developing, implementing and managing job access / employability programmes. You will also have experience of managing staff, projects and budgets. It is desirable that you have significant experience of Scottish Government funding and compliance.
