An exciting opportunity has arisen for two Senior Planning Officers to join our Development Standards Team. You will support the Development Standards Manager and be involved in all aspects of Development Management ranging from pre-application discussions, the processing of applications and appeals alongside the mentoring of both Planning Officers and Assistant Planners including signing out of some delegated applications.

 

This is an ideal time to be part of Renfrewshire Council as our transformational programme continues to be implemented, while exciting and ambitious developments including those related to City Deal, Cultural Infrastructure and our Housing investment and School Estate programme that seek to positively shape Renfrewshire for years to come.

 

As a Senior Planning Officer, you will work collaboratively with other teams across the Council to help shape quality development in Renfrewshire, including economic development, regeneration, placemaking and housing.

 

It is essential that you have experience of dealing with a wide range of planning applications including major and complex proposals and experience of presenting complex planning information in a way that is easy to understand, as well as have in depth knowledge of planning legislation and development management and enforcement regulations.

 

You must have the ability to apply a range of principles and expert knowledge across the planning performance management framework, and the ability to take the lead role and be responsible for specific projects or workstreams.

 

You will be Experienced in the use of Microsoft Office packages and relevant planning ICT software systems e.g. IDOX, E-Planning, Scottish Government Planning Portal.

 

It is essential that you have a degree in planning or equivalent discipline, and a membership of RTPI.

 

A full current driving license is essential.
