 You will work within the Renfrewshire Integrated Adults Community Mental Health Team. The Team is a Health and Social Work team based within Charleston Centre, Neilston Road, Paisley.

 

This team provides flexible and timely support and assessments to adults and their families to support healthy living in the community. You will also be expected to participate in regular duty responsibilities for the wider community mental health service in Renfrewshire.

 

You will be responsible for the provision of a direct social work service to clients with mental health problems in the community who are aged 16 and over. You will work in an integrated team with mental health nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapist, and medical professionals to deliver a holistic service.

 

The job will involve social work assessment and the provision of services under SDS and in line with adult support and protection and relevant mental health policies and legislation.

 

You will have experience of assessment and care management, working experience in a multi-disciplinary setting aswell as knowledge of current policies and operational issues in relation to community care.

 

You should have in depth awareness of relevant legislation in terms of Mental Health, Adults with Incapacity and Adult Support and Protection. You will be aware of current policy which specifically relates to mental health services/community care.

 

You must have effective verbal and written communication skills. You will be expected to use initiative and work independently as well as part a team. You must have effective interpersonal and assessment skills.

 

It is essential you can use IT packages and have effective writing skills.

 

You must have a BA (Hons) in Social Work or equivalent and be registered with SSSC.   MHO qualification, Practice Teacher Award or Diploma in Community Care are desirable.

 

Full training and support will be given to ensure that you are able to maintain the department’s commitment to continuous improvement.
