Role Purpose

Scottish Borders Council is seeking expressions of interest for a Skilled Chargehand role at Duns Roads Depot .

This is an excellent opportunity for interested individuals looking to become part of the Scottish Borders Council and taking on the Skilled chargehand role.

This opportunity for candidates with Stone building experience for bridges, streetscape and site work. Applicants do not need to meet all of the essential criteria at the point of application. We welcome applications from individuals who can demonstrate a clear commitment to achieving the required qualifications and certifications and who are willing to embrace new working techniques. Scottish Borders Council will support successful candidates to attain these requirements.

Essential

A basic education (Numeracy and literacy)


Certified relevant machinery and plant use qualification/s (i.e. Lantra certificates, NPTC, SVQ II, CSCS, CPCS or NPORS cards) or obtained within reasonable timescales

A current driving licence and use of a vehicle is an essential requirement of this post. * If you have a disability which precludes you from holding a drivers licence, Scottish Borders Council will take into account its responsibility to make reasonable adjustments to allow for your disability. Should it be possible to make such an adjustment in order that you can undertake the travel responsibilities of the post, this will be taken into account in consideration for this role.
