Role Purpose
SBC Contracts the external operational department of SBC have a vacancy for a grade 6 Skilled Chargehand.
The role would be responsible for leading the squad members in the delivery of the Civils project works to both external and internal clients.
The applicants would need to demonstrate some experience in Road Maintenance, Hard & Soft landscaping works and Building operations.
The post is also responsible in delivering the works to meet Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental standards.

Through time there would also be the opportunity to succeed into higher management roles.
Essential
A basic education (Numeracy and literacy)
Certified relevant machinery and plant use qualification/s (i.e. Lantra certificates, NPTC, SVQ II, CSCS, CPCS or NPORS cards) or obtained within reasonable timescales
A current driving licence and use of a vehicle is an essential requirement of this post. * If you have a disability which precludes you from holding a drivers licence, Scottish Borders Council will take into account its responsibility to make reasonable adjustments to allow for your disability.
