Role Purpose
Based at Kelso Roads Depot, we are seeking a motivated and reliable Specialist Plant Operative to join our Roads team and support the delivery of an efficient and effective service in line with planned maintenance schedules.
The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for driving and operating one of the Council’s road sweepers. This is a key role in supporting service provision and ensuring works are completed safely, on time, and to a high standard.
Essential
A basic education (Numeracy and literacy)
Certified relevant machinery and plant use qualification/s (i.e. Lantra certificates, NPTC, SVQ II, CSCS, CPCS or NPORS cards)
A current driving licence and use of a vehicle is an essential requirement of this post. * If you have a disability which precludes you from holding a drivers licence, Scottish Borders Council will take into account its responsibility to make reasonable adjustments to allow for your disability.
