Stirling Council is looking to recruit a Civic and Member Democratic Support Officer to join the Democratic Team.
This is an exciting opportunity to assist in delivery of a full range of democratic and civic support to Stirling Council, its elected members, staff, Committees, Panels, Working Groups and associated bodies. The post holder will primarily support the operation of Stirling Council's Civic Office, this includes leading on the implementation of civic events and functions and supporting the Lord Provost and the Bailies. The post holder will assist in the running of all Council, Committee, Panel and other statutory meetings. The post holder will also support the administration of elections.
It is essential that the successful candidate can manage competing priorities to meet deadlines and can proactively deal with complex, ambiguous and conflicting situations. The successful candidate requires: excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an eye for detail; experience of working with elected members or similar; experience of handling political or sensitive information; and, an ability to develop positive relationships.
This role is primarily office-based and the post holder will be required to work flexibly, including out of hours and weekends as required.
