Job Description
The successful candidate will be a qualified general practice surveyor and will occupy a role in the Estates & Commercial Property team within the Infrastructure Service. The post holder will be responsible for the effective delivery of a valuation, surveying and land agency service for clients both within and outwith the Council.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
• Lease negotiation and property management for non-operational and commercial property portfolio land and buildings
• Undertaking asset valuations of land and buildings across the corporate portfolio including the re-valuation of all assets on a 5-year cyclical basis
• The acquisition and disposal of land and property assets including assisting in the transfer of assets under the Council’s Community Asset Transfer programme • Assisting with the maintenance of the Council’s Asset Register and managing land and property information on the Corporate Asset Management system
Person Profile
Essential:
• Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors • Current valid driving licence
• Experience in general practice/land agency division of the surveying profession
• Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work both individually and as part of a small and close-knit team.
• High level communication skills with the ability to communicate and negotiate at all levels both face to face and by telephone and Microsoft Teams
• Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and use initiative in day-to-day duties
Desirable:
• Appreciation and understanding of the format and working methods of local government.
• Well-developed IT skills.
Although this post is currently based at home due to the pandemic, Stirling Council are working on a hybrid working model which will allow a mixture of home and office working.
