An excellent opportunity to join the Roads Service of Stirling Council as a Modern Apprentice Road Worker. You will work within the Service to learn a variety of skills within the role including how to operate items of road construction plant and work as part of a team of experienced roadworkers.

The work undertaken will range from small drainage works to major road resurfacing projects and include opportunities to participate in construction of new roads and pavements. You must enjoy working outdoors and be prepared to work in all weather conditions.

As a Modern Apprentice, you will work towards a Road Building and Maintenance SCQF Level 5 qualification and be willing to undertake any other training relevant to the role. These posts will be based either at our Stirling city centre base or in Callander.

You will be 16-19 years old (or an official 2026 summer leaver) and be able to demonstrate an enthusiasm this role and have a commitment to learn.

This opportunity is funded through the Modern Apprenticeship scheme and candidates between 20-29 years old may be eligible for enhanced funding if you have a disability or are care experienced.
