Are you passionate about public transport and delivering reliable, high-quality services to our communities? We're looking for a motivated and dynamic Public Transport Operations Coordinator to take a leading role in managing and developing our in-house operated bus services.
This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact, ensuring passengers have safe, efficient, and accessible transport every day.
About the Role
As a Public Transport Operations Coordinator, you will oversee the day-to-day delivery of council-run bus services, ensuring they operate smoothly, safely, and in line with service standards. You’ll be at the heart of operations—working closely with drivers, maintenance teams, key stakeholders and passengers to ensure services meet the needs of the communities and grow patronage.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage daily operations of in-house bus services
- Monitor service performance, reliability, and punctuality
- Line management of drivers
- Liaise with vehicle maintenance teams to ensure vehicle availability and safety
- Assist in timetable planning, service improvements, and reacting to operational issues
- Respond to customer feedback and work to continuously enhance passenger experience
- Work collaboratively with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with transport regulations, health & safety standards, and council policies
