Stirling’s Residential Childcare Services provide safe, stable, and nurturing homes for our children and young people to live in. We focus on building strong relationships while working through a trauma-informed lens, supporting our young people to feel safe, loved, listened to, and respected.
As corporate parents, we are also committed to the principles of The Promise Scotland.
We are currently looking for Relief Residential Child Care Workers within our Children’s Residential Services to supplement our existing teams.
Experience of working with children and young people is essential, as well as having an understanding of adverse childhood experiences. You will be resilient, able to manage crisis situations, and help to maintain a nurturing environment where children and young people can grow. You will work collaboratively with colleagues and partner agencies in the best interests of our young people.
Applicants should be willing to work across shift patterns, including:
- Day shift: 7.00am – 7.30pm
- Twilight shift: 2.30pm – 12.30am
- Night shift: 7.00pm – 7.30am
Please note that these shift times are subject to change.
You should hold an SVQ 3 in Social Services (Children and Young People) at SCQF Level 7, plus an HNC in Social Services (or an award of certificated knowledge with 96 credits at or above SCQF Level 7), or another relevant qualification that enables registration with the SSSC as a worker in a Residential Child Care Service.
A full UK driving licence is required.
Applicants must be registered with the SSSC (Residential Child Care) at the time of appointment. In return, you will receive regular supervision and training opportunities to enhance your existing skills.
For an informal discussion regarding this post, please contact Pauline Stewart, Registered Manager, on 01786 812386.
The successful candidate will be required to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG) for Children and Adults. If your application is progressed after the interview, you will be asked to complete the form and have your details verified.
If you’ve got the right skills for the job we want to hear from you. We encourage applications from the right candidates regardless of age (restrictions apply to Modern Apprenticeships), disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, belief or race.
