Job Description

This is an excellent opportunity to join our roads team in Stirling Council for 3 roadworkers. The successful candidates will participate and contribute as part of a team of roads operatives to maintain and renew roads, footways, civil engineering works and partake in summer and winter standby duties, ensuring that Stirling Council’s objectives are met. The successful candidates will work from our depot in Stirling. The post holder will participate and contribute as part of a team of Roads Operatives to maintain and renew roads, pathways and other related civil engineering works using a range of plant and equipment, ensuring safety, maximising the use of available resources and ensuring that Stirling Council’s objectives are met.

To assist the Roads Foreperson/Supervisor to effectively and efficiently deliver civil engineering works to renew and repair roads, pathways and other related items throughout the Stirling Council area. Examples of typical work are listed below:

Kerbing

Hand or Machine lay bituminous material

Drainage and manhole construction

Slab and block laying

Shuttering

Structural concrete works

Safety barrier erection

Boundary fence erection

Chainsaw operation

Driving vehicle

Sign erection including pole and foundations

Street lighting column erection and foundations.

Traffic Management Operations.
