The Health and Social Care Partnership is seeking to appoint an experienced and motivated Social Work Senior Practitioner to join our Learning Disability Service. This permanent post offers an opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high‑quality, person‑centred social work and social care practice within a complex and evolving service area.

The successful candidate will support the Team Manager to provide professional leadership, advanced practice oversight, and case management to staff working with individuals with learning disabilities who require support to achieve positive outcomes. You will be responsible for ensuring that assessment, care planning, risk management, and review processes are undertaken in accordance with statutory duties, national guidance, and local policy.

Key responsibilities include:

- Supporting and deputising for the Team Manager where necessary

- Providing professional supervision, guidance, and support to staff within the team.

- Managing a caseload involving complex needs, safeguarding concerns, and multi‑agency coordination.

- Contributing to service development, quality assurance, and continuous improvement activities.

- Promoting a rights‑based, strengths‑focused, and trauma‑informed approach to practice.

- Ensuring effective partnership working with individuals, carers, external agencies, and internal colleagues.

Applicants must have a minimum of 2 years post qualifying experience as a Social Worker in learning disability or a related field, and be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council to be considered for this post. Applicants should be able to demonstrate skills in leadership, decision‑making, and professional accountability.
