Job Description

Stirling Council as a whole, and the Governance Service in particular, have embarked on an exciting transformation programme to best place the Council to meet the needs of its citizens. We are looking for a solicitor to join our Legal Team supporting the Chief Officer – Governance and the Legal Manager to help drive forward the change process within our team and the Council. This is an opportunity for an ambitious solicitor to make their mark and progress their career. You will report directly to the Lead Solicitor – Commercial & Property and provide commercial support and advice across the breadth of the Council’s functions. Analytical and communications skills and political awareness are essential, together with a commitment to customer-focused public services. This role offers the opportunity of significant client contact, the opportunity to lead on your own caseload and the ability to learn, experience and advise on a wide range of legal matters. This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor seeking their first in house role working in local government, a trainee solicitor approaching qualification looking to qualify into local government or for candidates who are looking for a change in the direction of their career.
