Stirling Council have a critical position available for a highly motivated individual as the Sustainable Transport Development Team Leader within the Sustainable Development Team. This position presents an exciting opportunity to be a part of an expanding team and play a key role to transform Stirling into Scotland’s Sustainable City, particularly with the opportunities emanating from the National Transport Strategy. Therefore, you will be passionate about sustainable transport systems and making a real change for future generations, and be able to demonstrate this.

 

Stirling is currently looking to transform its transport systems towards being modernised, sustainable, and working towards net-zero. You will be an experienced transport professional with a comprehensive understanding of modernised strategic transport planning. Your duties will include responsibilities for developing transport infrastructure that supports the local development planning process and considerers this in the context of national and local demands, particularly in the light of the climate emergency. Sustainable Transport Systems are a central feature of the Local Transport Strategy.

 

You will be: an effective communicator; self-motivated; well organised; educated to a relevant degree level; have previous work experience in a similar managerial role either as a line manager or team leader; have an effective working knowledge of this sector and any relevant legislation; have the ability to work to deadlines and manage time effectively; be able to demonstrate excellent leadership qualities; have experience of managing budgets; and have excellent project work experience.
