Stirling Council Housing Services is seeking to recruit an experienced and motivated Technical Supervisor to lead our Plumbing Section. Based within the Capital and Technical Team, this is a varied and rewarding role where flexibility is essential to meet changing service demands.
As Technical Supervisor, you will be responsible for carrying out property inspections to identify repairs, remedial works, planned preventative maintenance requirements, and capital investment opportunities. Overseeing the day-to-day management of our plumbing workforce and, where required, supervise subcontractors while maintaining strong working relationships with tenants, clients and colleagues.
The role requires a proactive approach to ensuring that all work is delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard. Preparing management and performance reports, deliver toolbox talks and safety briefings, and ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation and industry best practice.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Experience in construction and plumbing supervision.
- Recognised plumbing qualifications.
- Up-to-date gas qualifications.
- A sound knowledge of mechanical services.
- A thorough understanding of water safety byelaws and protocols, including temperature monitoring, flushing regimes and Legionella prevention.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Competence in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience producing management information and performance reports.
- A strong understanding of health and safety legislation.
You will be committed to delivering a professional, customer-focused service while ensuring works are completed as efficiently and cost-effectively as possible.
The successful candidate will also be required to participate in the Standby/On-Call rota. A full, valid driving licence is essential.
