This is an exciting opportunity to join a busy and fast-paced communications team at Scotland’s largest College.
Edinburgh College helps tens of thousands of students achieve the future they want and your role will be to help capture some of the amazing work that happens across our four campuses and communicate it through our social media channels.
The Social Media Coordinator will lead on crafting the College’s social media activity, and draw upon the talents of the Communications, Marketing & Design Team to produce dynamic, engaging content that enhances the reputation of the college and promotes its activities.
The post holder will be responsible for maintaining and developing a content calendar that covers all of the College’s channels and provides a look-ahead to upcoming events, milestones and marketing campaigns.
They’ll be asked to work with the Communications and PR Lead to produce a Social Media Strategy for the College that sets out key messaging, approaches and guidance for each of the college’s channels. This will be in addition to monitoring latest trends on social media and ensuring that College accounts utilise these where appropriate.
Videography and photography skills are important to this role, as is the ability to create monthly reporting using benchmarks and KPIs to track the performance of our channels.
The ideal candidate will be someone who is at ease working in a proactive press team and able to balance several different workstreams at the same time. You’ll also be someone who’s a great team player – willing and able to help out other members of the marketing and design teams when needed.
