Glasgow Kelvin College is seeking enthusiastic and committed Sessional Community Learning and Development Workers to support the delivery of community based and college based programmes during evening hours. You will support young people and communities through inclusive and engaging learning opportunities that promote personal, social and educational development.
Working alongside college staff and external partners, you will contribute to the planning, delivery and evaluation of activities that help learners build confidence, develop skills and progress towards positive destinations.
- Build positive and trusting relationships with young people and learners.
- Provide mentoring, guidance and pastoral support.
- Deliver engaging youth work activities, workshops and group learning sessions.
- Support learners to achieve accredited and certificated outcomes.
- Encourage participation, inclusion and confidence-building.
- Work collaboratively with schools, community organisations and partner agencies.
- Maintain accurate learner records and contribute to programme monitoring and evaluation.
- Adhere to safeguarding, health and safety and college policies and procedures.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Qualifications
- Educated to HNC (SCQF level 7) or above in Community Learning and Development or youth work or equivalent in an appropriate subject;
- Evidence of Continuous Professional Development
Knowledge
Demonstrable knowledge of:
- Community Learning and Development values, ethics and practice.
- Youth work approaches and learner engagement techniques.
- Local and national CLD priorities and strategies.
- Effective partnership working and community engagement.
Skills and Competencies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Experience
- Experience delivering CLD, youth work or community-based programmes.
- Experience supporting young people facing barriers to learning and progression.
