Human Resources Business Partner – People and Culture Services

(Full Time; Permanent)

Who we are:

Glasgow Kelvin College is the key provider of accessible vocational and core-skills learning in the north and east of the city. We deliver high-quality introductory to degree-level programmes to around 15,000 students each year from three campus buildings and through a large network of community-based centres. The College works with partners to create inclusive progression opportunities in a vibrant and sustainable environment for the learners, communities and stakeholders which we serve.

The role:

· The HR Business Partner will support employees and managers across the College, providing professional advice, guidance and support to provide a comprehensive Human Resources Management (HRM) service.

· The HR Business Partner will contribute to the development of systems and processes to support delivery of an efficient and effective HR service.

· They will manage an HRM portfolio including case work e.g. disciplinary, grievances, absence management and recruitment, ensuring a consistent approach in accordance with College policies and procedures and best practice, maintaining effective employee relations.

· They will support the development of managers in people management issues providing coaching and training in policy and procedure.

· The HR Business Partner will analyse trends and metrics to enhance effective service development and delivery and meet the operational and strategic objectives of the College.

The candidate:

You should be CIPD qualified and a member of CIPD. You will have experience of working as an HR team with a good understanding of HR practice; a working knowledge of employment law and its application in the workplace and be experienced in supporting case management processes. With excellent communication and interpersonal skills, combined with strong administrative and organisational skills, you will be a confident and effective problem solver and thrive on resolving issues effectively and sensitively. You will be a proficient user of HR systems/digital solutions. You should have a proactive and flexible approach to work and the ability to prioritise your own workload is crucial.
